A BIT ABOUT US | TOTTENHAM COMMUNITY SPORTS CENTRE
COMMITED TO SERVING THE COMMUNITY
At Tottenham Community Sports Centre, we are committed to enhancing the lives of members in the community through our wide range of activities and events. Over the years, we have been recognized as the leading community centre and go the extra mile to make sure our members are happy with our services.
Tottenham Community Sports Centre is one of the oldest sports centres in London. It was establishes over 30 years ago by a determined band of volunteers, many of whom are still connected with the centre today. Based in converted Territorial Army buildings on Tottenham High Road, almost opposite Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, the premises are leased from Haringey Council by the Tottenham Community Sports Centre Charitable Trust, a registered charity.
The main building contains a main sports hall, small sports hall, table tennis room, dual use air rifle range, gallery, fitness room, small cardio vascular fitness room, creche, judo room, two committee / multi purpose rooms, offices, kitchen, sauna and lounge bar area.
The annexe houses a weights/fitness room, boxing gymnasium, fitness room, changing room and galleried offices. The annexe has recently undergone complete refurbishment with the aid of Play Sport London grant and donations from the Metropolitan Police.
Additionally, there is a floodlit outdoor all weather sports area which was originally funded by a £30,000 Urban Regeneration grant. London Marathon Trust grants totalling to £80,000 have ensured that the pitch is regularly updated.
The sports areas are mainly let to local clubs and annual attendance numbers some 100,000 people. We currently have 90 member clubs whose activities range from martial arts to football, badminton to basketball, keep fit to boxing and elderly citizens short mat bowls to carers and toddlers clubs. The lounge bar/tea bar hosts parties and comedy nights as well as being the focal point of presentations.
